Character exploration - Damien.

So this is a character of mine that I draw from time to time for a personal project.  I've noticed pink and blue palette on everything that is 80's revival so I figured it would be fitting for this guy.  Keep your eyes open for more of this guy and others...

Inktober 31

And a Harley Quinn to finish it off!  The number one thing I've learned from my first Inktober is DRAWMOAR! ;)

Inktober 28

I decided to draw Moon Knight that night.

Inktober 20

This one came out a lot cleaner than the last!  Had to draw one of my favorite characters. :)

Inktober 19

Messy, messy, messy.  I had a rough time with this drawing, the poor paper in my sketchpad is wilted.  I had a fun time messing around with the calligraphy brush though. :)

Savage Dragon in color.

Took my scan and threw some color on it. :)

Hellboy sketchbook scan.

Yeaup.

Savage Dragon sketch.

I've always enjoyed Erik Larsen's Savage Dragon especially growing up.  Thought I would do something a little silly this time.  This guy has definitely skipped a leg day or two.  Another experiment with the inks and zip tones.  :)

Abe Sapien sketch.

This one was a bit all over the place with media used.  I wanted to try out some ink wash but I think I used the wrong brush.  I just tried to roll with my synthetic acrylic brushes but I think I would've fared better if I used a horse hair brush.  Ah well next time.  You also might notice little screen dot patterns and that's because I finally used some screen tone that I bought awhile back.  It's pretty neat but very tedious.  I had fun with this one and learned a few new things as well.  Abe's a cool character, he's just got fish for brains. ;)

BAMF!

A Nightcrawler fan sketch.  I had a good time doing the fx for this one. :)

Cloak and Dagger.

Thought I would sketch Cloak and Dagger as a request from a friend.

Cyclops Fan Art.

OPTIC-BLAST!  Growing up I always sort of liked Cyclops, but mostly hated him.  Why?  Because Wolverine did.

Wolverine Fan Art.

I thought I would take a crack at Wolverine.  Sort of looks a bit dopey, which is what I was going for? =P

Kalle style exploration.

This is a character that's part of a personal project I've been picking at when I can.  I think I'm locking in on something.

Autopilot.

This is an image that I did for my sister's blog. I'll post a link to that particular post once she puts it up so you can see the picture in context. I thought Id try something a little new here and kept as much of my original lines as I could manage (all of them). I'm also trying a very muted/limited palette which is a little new to me. I'm definitely going to have to toy around with it more in the future. :)

edit: as promised, here's the text to go with the image. Thanks for the inspiration An-ja-juh!!
